PTA Meeting Minutes - February 3, 2010
Call to order: President Jennifer Scott-Greenall called the meeting to order at 12:12 pm.
Attendance: Jennifer Scott-Greenall, David Raymond, Robyn Batchman, Jenifer Lechtman, Mike Rook, Lisa Glass, Wendy Miller, Maureene Lee, Julie Acquafresca, Vanessa Ross, Ann Brodersen, Samatha Tate.
Approval of Minuites: The minutes were read and approved. The motion was made by Vanessa Ross and approved by Jenifer Lechtman
Treasurer Report:
- Audit - The audit is in balance. Jenifer Lechtman accepted the audit and a 2nd. From Mike Rook.
Committee Reports:
- See’s Candy - Deadline Feb. 5th. Order should be here for distribution on the Feb. 10th.
- Art Night - Well attended and was a great success.
- Bear Facts - Deadline Feb. 12th. Submit online if possible. mwrook@sbcglobal.net
New business:
- Reflections - Awards TBD. March 18th. or 25th
- Family Fitness Night - Will be on March 18th. Looking for volunteers. Please contact Jessica Figallo louandjay@yahoo.com
- Dr. Seuss Day - Green egg’s & ham breakfast will be on March 5th. @ 7:15 in the Multi Purpose Room.
- Volunteers needed for sale of hats and serving breakfast.
- Tickets and hats go on sale to the week prior.
- Open Board & Committee positions - If interested in being apart of the 2010-11 Royal Oaks PTA Team please contact Jennifer Scott-Greenall.
- School Mural - It is complete unveiling coming soon.
Principals Report: Samantha Tate.
- Marquee - New school marquee in the works. Special Thanks to VUSD.
- 32 lap top computers purchased for 3rd. & 4th. Grades by PTA are here. Still need to order the carts. In the works Elmo’s and Projectors for all classes.
- More budget cuts coming in the next 2 years. Talked about possible way that Royal Oak”s can meet these new challenges.
- Author Visit- (Jeff Savage) Feb. 24th.
- After School Connections - Can be organized and led by parents. Nice to have interested staff participate when they are available. Will be coming in May.
