PTA Meeting Minutes - March 3, 2010

Call to order :  President Jennifer Scott-Greenall called the meeting to order at 12:10 PM

Attendance : Jennifer Scott-Greenall, David Raymond, Robyn Batchman, Jenifer Lechtman, Anici Schultz, Julie Acquefresca, Mike Rook, Stacy Hyde, Vanessa Ross, Shadie Hernandez, Samantha Tate, Ann Brodersen, Joan Kingsford.

Approval of Minutes : The minutes were read and approved.  The motion was made by Jenifer Lechtman and approved by Vanessa Ross.

Treasurer Report :   A list of checks was presented since the last meeting and a motion was made by  Jenifer Lechtman to ratify the checks and seconded by Joan Kingsford.  The beginning balance was 60,390.35 with less checks and plus deposits our ending balance is 45,085.89.

Committee Reports:  

1. Dr. Seuss Breakfast - This Friday, March 5th. @ 7:15 am.
2. Royal Oaks Night at the Imagine U Children’s Museum. Tuesday March 17th. @ 6- 7:30 pm.
3. Bear Facts - Deadline March 7th.  Submit online if possible.  mwrook@sbcglobal.net                    

New Business :

1. Hall of Fame Nominations. Get your forms turned in for your Site Honoree.  Contribution Cards are $10.00 for this event @ the L.J. Williams Theater on April 26th. 
2. Royal Oak’s Track team will host a meet @ Golden West on April 16th.
3. Reflections Dessert Night Awards Wed. March 17th. @ 6:30- 8:00 pm. Multi-Purpose room.
4. Volunteers needed to help set up & take down.
5. Reflection Award Night Finals Will be April 20th. TCOE building.
6. Jog-A-Thon & Radio Disney Friday April 9th.
7. All Star Zone is needing volunteers to help get our students geared up for Star Testing. If you would like to help contact Jen Lechtman.
8. School Mural - Motion was made by Julie Acqefresca and 2nd. By Vanessa Ross for $220.00 for a digital reproduction of the mural for future use. Unveiling of the Mural is set for Open House. 

Principals Report : Samantha Tate

1. Royal Oaks is set to be a Title 1 School next year.  This will give us much needed funds to be spent on the better learning of our students, and school programs.
2. We have received Carry-over money for the purchase of projectors & Elmo’s.
3. The feeder school Principal’s do a walk around through one another’s schools, Mrs. Tate is proud to report that Royal Oak’s is looking Great in comparison to the newer schools.
4. Mrs. Rook has worked hard to get a grant to purchase flower boxes to bring life and color to the campus.
